STEETON claimed their first West Riding County Amateur League point of the campaign with an injury-time penalty by Lee Reilly against visitors Storthes Hall.

The hosts started the Premier Division contest well, Tim Hird and a Reilly penalty giving them an early advantage, only for Gavin Armitage to reduce the arrears before the break.

Storthes Hall took command in the second half with strikes from Joshua Rodgers, Lee Bradshaw and Josh Bradshaw but Joe Park and Reilly's late effort earned Steeton a draw.

Campion, in their bid to continue their perfect start, took an early lead at Halifax Irish through Steve Hollingworth, only for Jonathon Irving to convert from the penalty spot to level the scores.

Then Mat Gregory netted in the second half to secure Irish a 2-1 victory.

There was no joy for Tyersal either as they went down 4-1 at Huddersfield YMCA, with Ryan Wood netting the consolation.

And Salts slipped to their first defeat when they came up against early pace-setters Bay Athletic, who won 5-1.

Hunsworth took all three points off previously unbeaten Lower Hopton with a 1-0 victory thanks to a second-half own goal by Lincoln Adams.

Meanwhile, defending champions Ovenden West Riding piled on the goals against pointless Kirkburton and won 7-0.

Ventus-Yeadon Celtic and Dudley Hill Rangers, with two wins each, are the early leaders in Division One.

Celtic had to come from behind after a Chris Gillespie strike in the first half for visitors Lepton Highlanders. Second-half goals from Adam Turner and Kyle Shah secured the points for the home side.

Rangers returned from Wakefield City with a 3-0 success after Dominic Staunton, Andy Knowles and debutant Luke Thornton scored.

But there was little joy for Wibsey, who slipped up 3-2 at promoted Thornes, or Campion Reserves, who were beaten 4-1 by Overthorpe.

Bradford FC, who finished bottom of Division Two last season and never managed more than three goals in any game, finally broke the habit by defeating Golcar United Reserves 4-2. Azir Gulzar scored twice to add to other strikes from Hasam Khan and Asif Iqbal.

Both Tyersal and Salts Reserves picked up their first victories, the former side beating Kirkburton Reserves 4-3 while the latter had Stuart Mullin on target with two goals in their 3-0 victory over Bay Athletic Reserves.
