Senior B section high-fliers Farsley Celtic Juniors missed out on a place in the Marflitt Trophy final as they lost 1-0 to Senior A opponents Ealandians.

Rob Gerrard headed the decider in extra time of the Yorkshire Amateur League knockout competition, after Andy Cooper had rattled the crossbar with a volley for Farsley late in normal time.

Grangefield Old Boys retained second place in the Senior A title race with a 2-0 win at mid-table FC Headingley.

Luke Hunter gave them an interval lead and Ritchie Banks ended the contest with a late second goal.

Old Modernians are in danger of being sucked into the relegation zone after a 10-0 thrashing by leaders Gildersome Spurs OB, who are three points clear of Grangefield with three games in hand.

Ben Keedy bagged four goals and had three assists, while Matt Jackson added a hat-trick for unbeaten Spurs.

There was better news for St Bede’s Reserves as they won 1-0 at fellow relegation candidates Woodhouse Moor Methodists in Division Two thanks to a Ross Jones strike.

Grangefield OB Reserves picked up a handy 1-1 draw at home to leaders Colton Institute courtesy of Ross Jordinson’s equaliser.

But Old Modernians Reserves were shocked 5-0 at Gildersome Spurs Thirds, where Joe Bedford and Jason Hardcastle scored twice apiece.

Ash Mackereth scored four of Heckmondwike GSOB’s goals as they blitzed Almondburians Reserves 7-1 in a mid-table Division Three clash.

St Bede’s Thirds were 3-0 winners at North Leeds Reserves in Division Five, George Nash scoring twice, making it nine games without defeat as they leapfrogged their hosts into fourth place.
