After losing two of their first three West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division games, Steeton registered their fifth consecutive victory with a 3-0 success at Halifax Irish at the weekend.
Lee Reilly, Daniel McNulty and Adam Spencer scored in the first half to keep Steeton in third place, level on points with last season’s champions Bay Athletic, who beat Huddersfield YMCA 4-0.
Terry Hargreaves made his first start of the season for Campion and chipped in with two goals to add to a Jordan Missin penalty and an Omar Habeeb strike as they beat Storthes Hall 4-1.
Both Salts and Tyersal slipped towards the lower end of the table with defeats.
Salts, who have taken only one point from their last five league games, lost 5-2 at Kirkburton, while Tyersal had only a consolation goal from Graeme Sides to show for their efforts from a 3-1 defeat at Littletown.
Ovenden West Riding continue to set the pace at the top. Their 2-1 victory at pointless Hall Green United keeps them four points clear of Bay Athletic and Steeton.
Hunsworth took full advantage of Division One rivals Ventus Yeadon Celtic’s game being called off to extend their perfect start from six and move back into pole position.
Salts Reserves were on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline, with Jamie Bairstow, Lee Brook, Jonjo Haley Adam Womersley and Dale Wright getting on the score sheet.
Ryan Boguslaski and Daryl Foster netted for the home side, who had led 1-0 at the break.
West Horton and Wibsey both picked up their first league victories of the campiagn.
West Horton had a Lee Smith hat-trick and Ebad Rasid goal to thank for their 4-1 victory over Tingley Athletic, while Wibsey came out on top with a 6-3 home success over Overthorpe – Mick Burke (2), Dave Halley, Adam Cronin, Phillip Brogan and Damian Harland hitting the target.
Ashley Hill (2) and James Wilson replied for the visitors.
League newcomers DRAM Community FC lead the way in Division Two after a 4-1 win at Tyersal Reserves extended their unbeaten start to seven games, during which they have scored 37 goals.
Dudley Hill Rangers are in second place after beating Thornes FC 2-1, with Liam Bastey and Daniel Softley scoring.
Bradford FC are still struggling to find the form that saw them crowned Spen Valley League champions last season.
After five points from their first four games, they have failed to take a point from their last three matches.
They lost 3-1 at home to Hall Green United on Saturday.
