Thornbury Youth Community Centre replaced Bradford Arms at the summit of the Telegraph & Argus League table as they saw off West Bradford Spartans 4-1.

A restricted programme saw only two league matches played due to a combination of inclement weather and cup ties.

Thornbury were well on top by half-time against Spartans, with Tossef Arshad adding to an early double by Majid Ali.

The gallant visitors hit back with a goal from Dominic Petchak to give them some hope.

But with man of the match Kabir Hameed controlling midfield, Spartans found it tough and late strike from Auzer killed off the contest.

Sporting Athletic fired seven goals past Bradford Arms last week but could not repeat that form as they slipped to a 5-1 home defeat to TVR United.

Mohammed Ishmaeel opened the scoring after 15 minutes and they quickly doubled the lead as Junid Taj beat four players before scoring.

Faisel Shabir marked his full debut with the third goal from a tight angle on the half-hour mark and Ishmaeel’s second made it 4-0 before the interval.

The second half was a much closer affair before Waqas Ahmed extended the lead 20 minutes from time, also on his full debut.

The hosts finally managed a consolation goal with the last kick off the match.

Meanwhile, the T&A League’s interest in the Bradford & District FA Senior Cup came to end for another season as West Bowling United and White Abbey Road both bowed out at the last-16 stage.
