Leaders Fairbank continued their impressive unbeaten start to the Telegraph & Argus League season with a 3-0 win at Ventnor Youth.

Farooq Miah opened the scoring after 20 minutes and, with defender Tofail Ahmed in terrific form for the visitors, they continued to dominate.

Yet it took until the 70th minute to double the advantage through Mohammed Ismaeel’s header, before the same player killed off the contest with a cheeky back-heeled goal.

Lidget Green kept up the pressure on the leading clubs by matching Fairbank’s 3-0 win as rock-bottom Sporting Athletic were left still searching for a first point.

A 20th-minute penalty set the ball rolling and Naveed Iqbal added a second goal five minutes later. Tanveer Iqbal completed the tally ten minutes from time.

Bradford All Stars scored all their goals in the first half on the way to a 3-1 home win over mid-table rivals East Bowling.

Mohammed Junnayd’s cracking double sandwiched a strike by Waheed Khan for the hosts, who did not concede until five minutes from time.

Bradford Arms are up to third place after a 3-1 home victory over West Bowling United.

Two goals by Danny Harrison secured the points after United had cancelled out Atik Hussain’s initial effort.
