Premier Youth were crowned champions for the second time at the fifth ‘Bringing Communities Together’ five-a-side tournament in Bradford.

The 2008 winners beat Masjid Bilal 4-3 in the final, although they were pushed all the way after taking a three-goal lead.

Premier Youth had edged past defending champions Hockney All-Stars on a penalty shoot-out in the quarter-finals.

The annual event is organised by Naqshbandia Active Development Association (NADA) in partnership with the Manningham-based community group Integrating Communities Active Network (ICAN).

It took place at the 5Alive Soccer Centre in Fairweather Green and featured 16 teams.

The competition uses the universal language of sport to bring people together and celebrate the diversity of contemporary Britain.

The four previous tournaments raised around £4,000 for charity, with ‘Orphans in Need’ benefiting from this year’s entry fees.

NADA are on the look-out for sponsors for next year’s tournament. Anyone interested should contact Nazim Ali on 07825-698283 or e-mail nazim27@hotmail.com.
