With only two games in the last ten weeks, Bradford City could not have had a worse preparation for their re-arranged third round FA Women’s Cup tie against third-placed National League side Charlton Athletic at Thamesmead AFC on Sunday.
All 16 third-round ties were postponed last week but the fourth-round draw has been made and a victory for City at Charlton would see them at home to Derby County or West Ham United - but continued freezing weather could still have the last word this weekend.
Leeds United face similar problems with their tie at Watford.
All games in the region were victims of the ‘whiteout’ last week but Bradford City A are scheduled to face Wetherby at home in North East Regional Women's League Division One (South) this week, and in the same division Rothwell entertain promotion rivals Malet Lambert and Kirklees are at home to AFC Preston.
Though seven points adrift of their opponents, Bradford Park Avenue take on West Riding County Women's League Premier Division leaders Keighley Oaks at Oakworth, on the back of a six-match unbeaten run as they step up their challenge to Keighley and joint top side Harrogate Railway.
Victory for Avenue would also make it a hat-trick of league wins against the top teams.
This is the first League meeting between the teams, and Bradford hope to do better than previous encounters in various cup competitions but will be buoyed following the 4-1 league victory at Brayton Belles with a scratch team.
