Fairbank Under-18s reclaimed their Craven Junior League title and dedicated it to former player Sohail Rashid.
The Fairbank midfielder battled with cancer for most of the season, which resulted in the amputation of his leg.
“He was a wonderful player who helped us claim our first title in the under-16s,” said captain Fezan Akubat.
“He scored some awesome goals, including one from the halfway line in a quarter-final which will live long in the memory. He may not be able to play for us anymore but he certainly isn’t forgotten.”
Manager Shazad Bashi added: “It puts things into perspective when you hear the battles a 17-year-old like Sohail has had to face.
“Everyone at the club wishes him well and hope he is able to readjust his life.”
The club would also like to thank all the supporters of the club who have backed the team over the past year along with the clubs sponsor Mahmoods.
