BRADFORD City Women face three games in five days next week but skipper Shauna Legge is confident that her team can handle their hectic schedule.

The Bantams will visit Blackburn on Tuesday night before a trip to Stoke two days later, and then they welcome West Bromwich Albion on the Sunday.

But Legge is one of several players who have at one point or another become accustomed to such a demanding routine on the regular.

“Obviously, the girls need to look after themselves that week in terms of resting and recovering, getting their meals planned and prepared,” she said.

“But myself and quite a lot of the other players have played for a university team as well as at Bradford, so a lot of the girls are used to playing a couple of games a week as well as training, which can only be a positive thing.

“To get results, like I say, recovery in between the games is really important.

“In regards to on the pitch, we just need to make sure we’re doing the simple things well, concentrate on playing our game and give the same effort and work rate we have in previous weeks.”

City go into this game off the back of two disappointing results, having lost 2-1 to both West Brom and Fylde.

However, Legge has been able to take plenty of positives from the performances, with the Bantams just lacking a little bit of luck to get points on the board.

And with City owing all three of next week’s opponents some revenge from defeats earlier this season, she is confident they can turn around their recent form and pick up momentum in a flurry of fixtures.

“We are all well up for getting the results we want and deserve. We haven’t let a couple of disappointing results dishearten us, it only gears us up more for the next games,” Legge said.

“After a couple of weekends without a game too, there is definitely a sense of us being excited to get back out on the pitch.

“All three are going to be tough games but I believe we can gain points from each of them.

She continued: “We definitely owe them all from when we’ve played them already this season and we can only use that to fire us up more.

“We’re ready and raring to go.”
