LEEDS City had to battle hard, but eventually ran out comfortable 4-2 winners over mid-table Field in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division. The win leaves them two points behind league leaders Beeston St Anthony's.

That game was the only fixture to go ahead in the division on Saturday and Leeds made the most of their opportunity. The contest was deadlocked at 1-1 going into the break but City showed their class in the second period.

Liam Charles and Tobias Rawcliffe were on target for Field.

Rawdon Old Boys remain top of Division One after grinding out a 2-0 victory at Kippax. The game was goalless at half-time but Rawdon's pressure told in the end.

Whitkirk Wanderers are hunting down the leaders though and they stayed in contention for the title with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Oxenhope Recreation.

Despite their lowly league position, Oxenhope defied the odds and found themselves 3-2 ahead with only five minutes remaining. However, a back-post header and a scrambled late winner completed the comeback.

Whitkirk remain three points behind Rawdon with both sides having played 20 games each.

In Alliance Division One, second-placed Field Reserves must have been licking their lips at the prospect of facing rock-bottom East End Park Reserves.

They did their title chances no harm by crushing their hapless opponents 10-1. Joshua Milner was the star man, helping himself to a hat-trick. They sit five points behind leaders Shelley Reserves, but with six games in hand.

Ilkley Town Reserves kept their faint title hopes alive with a convincing 6-1 home victory over Sherburn White Rose Reserves in Alliance Division Two. They sit seven points off the summit but games are running out.
