Bradford City Women visit Fylde tomorrow for a fixture that’s proven incredibly unpredictable already this season.

The two have met twice this campaign, with City winners on penalties in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup after an enthralling 3-3 draw, but 2-1 losers in the league after Sophie Charlton’s 83rd minute strike.

City manager Charlotte Stuart is prepared for more surprises against a team looking much different to the one they last played.

“Our two meetings already this season have certainly been two very different games, and they are a changed team again from before,” Stuart said.

“But, as always, our focus is on us, and on getting things right this week from last week.”

City ended their one month wait to return to league action last week as they visited West Bromwich Albion, but it was far from a dream return.

Despite going into the game on a high following a 2-0 win over Farsley in the West Riding County Cup semi-finals, they fell to a 2-1 defeat thanks to a poor first half.

Jennifer Kikomeko struck twice to give the Baggies a two-goal lead at the break, one that even a much improved second half display from the Bantams couldn’t turn around - despite Abi Lee pulling a goal back.

But with players back available in defence and the emphasis at training this week having been on the attack, Stuart is confident her team can put things right this weekend.

“We weren’t clinical on Sunday and that cost us the game,” she said. “We have worked on our final third approach this week and are looking forward to implementing this on Sunday.”
