Guiseley Vixens will hope they have factors in their favour this weekend as they look to climb off the foot of the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division.

Opponents Fylde will be playing their third game in seven days and, despite reaching the FAWPL Plate final with a win over Luton last Sunday, will be low on confidence after a midweek loss to local rivals Blackburn Rovers.

It’s now five weeks since Guiseley played a competitive fixture, and they will hope that means fresh legs not lack of match fitness as they continue that search for their first league win.

Brighouse Town’s chances at promotion from Northern Division One have taken a hit with some disappointing results in recent weeks, but they’ll be out to put that right at Chorley.

Their opposition may be sat in mid-table, but they played a significant part in the promotion race last weekend, drawing with then-leaders Liverpool Marshalls Feds to allow Hull City to move to the top.

There’s a derby in the Reserve Northern Division, with Leeds United welcoming Sheffield United for a clash between the bottom two.

The Blades won the reverse fixture in one of only two wins for them this season, but Leeds have struggled all the same and their visitors can move above them tomorrow if they can do the double. Farsley Celtic visit Wallsend in the North East Premier with plenty of positives to take from their midweek County Cup defeat to Bradford City.

The Bantams were held off until the final stages of the game and Celtic will hope to show that same defensive resilience this weekend, while adding some goals for a win that would see them displace Wallsend in fourth.

There’s League Cup action in the West Riding leagues, as Premier Division leaders Tingley welcome Third Division champions Thackley.

The away side wrapped up their title a few weeks back now, and will be looking to pick up where they left off after postponements have enforced a three-week break. They’ll have to be at their best to cause an upset though against a Tingley side who have won all ten of their league games this season.

Farsley’s reserves take on lower-league Ripon City in their cup tie, looking to make it five wins in a row and extend their unbeaten run to 10 games.

Finally, Third Division Tyersal are in league action, having been eliminated from the cup by Tingley last month.

They take on fourth-placed Phoenix, hoping to follow up their 6-0 win over Durkar Devils last time out.
