LAUREN Jordinson admits she has been impressed by Bradford City Women since her mid-season arrival.

The midfielder, who can also play at centre half, joined the club from Durham just before Christmas and has played every minute of their four league fixtures so far in 2018.

Those results have already included some great highs and great lows – but Jordinson admits she sees plenty of potential in her new team.

"What attracted me the most about Bradford is that they are a team that strive to do everything well, both on and off the field," she said.

"There are a lot of good players here and I saw it as an exciting opportunity to learn and develop my game further.

"To be honest, it probably wasn't the best time for me to join in terms of the weather as we have had quite a few games postponed, therefore it has been difficult to get into a routine of playing.

"However, I feel like I have settled in and everyone at the club has been very welcoming."

Jordinson added: "We have had a mixed bag of performances so far this year to say the least.

"Against Derby, we showed grit and determination to seal the victory and towards the end we soaked up the pressure.

"Whereas the Middlesbrough game was a completely different story and, without a doubt, the best team performance of the four games."

Jordinson played in the centre of defence for the visit of pacesetting Boro and came in for praise from goalkeeper Nat Saunders afterwards as City hammered the leaders 9-2.

"There was a real sense of unity between us that afternoon, resulting in what was a comfortable win," she said.

Results such as those have given the former Durham player some early highlights in claret and amber and she believes they should also set the bar for the team's displays every week.

Jordinson said: "Both the Stoke and Blackburn defeats were disappointing in terms of team performances and I feel that, with the standard of players we have, we did not do ourselves justice."

But with City facing two of the bottom three in the next fortnight, they will be expecting a couple of positive results – and performances to match.
