FOR the first time this season, Farsley Celtic Juniors looked like the team that won the Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division title in 2016-17.

They won 4-1 at in-form Ealandians to complete the treble over their hosts after triumphing in the reverse fixture and also knocking them out of the Terry Marflitt Trophy.

Louis Surtees and Danny Lyons put Juniors 2-0 ahead at half-time, netting from accurate crosses.

Ealandians halved the arrears in a decent 15-minute spell after the break before stand-in striker Paul Dockerty put them to bed with a brace, including an 18-yard volley.

Calverley United dropped to second in the Championship Division after a 3-2 defeat at Leeds Medics & Dentists Reserves.

Matty Wilson and Jordan Williams hit United's first-half equalisers but they conceded again with 15 minutes left to suffer their third defeat in six matches.

Gildersome Spurs Old Boys went top after a 3-1 victory at third-placed Mount St Mary's, although they trailed before replying through Steve Wales (2) and Connor Firth.

St Bede's climbed two places to fourth after a 5-2 home win over second-bottom Thornesians.

On a 4G pitch with plenty of zip in it after rain, Neil Murray's wonder strike gave Bede's the lead and Tawheed Ahmed's second was also impressive.

Thorne pulled one back but man of the match Ahmed then carried the ball 40 yards before slotting home with his left foot.

Joe Cook's second goal kept Thorne interested but they were finished off by an Ian Horrocks curler and Gary Sunderland's lob.

Steve Wells' brace for Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves left Idle 2-0 behind inside five minutes – but they levelled via Tom Simonett and Aaron Irving and took the lead before the interval thanks to a 30-yard free-kick by Jack Strudwick.

Farsley keeper Macca Gaunt kept them in it with some wonderful saves but two composed finishes by Ryan Mitchell finished them off prior to a late penalty consolation for the returning Ash Slater as it finished 5-3 to Idle.

In Division Two, hosts Colton Athletic made it seven wins out of seven and went second behind fellow 100 per centers Garforth Crusaders after a 7-4 home victory over Tyersal.

However, they were shocked when Tyersal went 2-0 ahead inside 17 minutes before leading 4-2 at half-time, including three goals in as many minutes.

Joshua Hyde (2), Nathan Armstrong and Luke Leedham netted for Tyersal, who would have scored more were it not for inspired keeper Adam Hartley.

One-time promotion favourites Fairbank United slipped to fourth after a 4-2 defeat at Sandal Wanderers but took the lead via a penalty by skipper Bilal Saleem.

Both keepers played starring roles (Richard Marshall for United) before Faris Hussain hit a late second at 4-1 down.

In Division Four, Prospect won 3-1 at fellow live-wires Leeds City Old Boys Thirds in what was a credit to the fifth tier.

Cyrus Azimkorf gave Prospect the lead after five minutes from the spot after James McManus was brought down but they failed to capitalise on this until Kingsley Rowe-Depass put them 2-1 in front. Jack Taylor then sealed victory late on.

In Division Five, Tyersal Reserves beat visitors West End Park 11-0 thanks to man of the match Chris Gibbons (4), Jake Stott (3), Timmy McLaughlin (2), James McLaughlin and Ady Lowther.
