BRADFORD City Women skipper Shauna Legge is hoping a week off can aid the Bantams in their bid to return to form.

City's trip to Fylde on Sunday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and so the FA Women's Premier League fixture has been rescheduled for this coming weekend.

Legge is hoping the team can take advantage of extra time to prepare after back-to-back defeats.

"The postponement gives us more time to regroup and get things right at training to go again against Fylde," she said.

"The Stoke defeat obviously still hurts – but we need to learn from it and not allow a result like that again as it doesn't do us justice as a team."

The Bantams' last outing was a heavy 6-2 Northern Division loss at home to Stoke City, when goals from Abi Lee and Hannah Smith brought the interval score back to 3-2 before a second-half collapse.

"We didn't have the best start to the game, which obviously put us on the back foot from the off," said Legge.

"We were very quick to get our heads down rather than thinking about what we needed to do to pull it back."

That result followed a 2-1 setback to Leicester City in the SSE Women's FA Cup the previous week, which ended a four-game winning run the Bantams enjoyed over the festive period.

Yet to get back to that high, Bradford know they will have to be at their best against a team who they have already had two close encounters with this term.

After beating them on penalties in the FA Women's Premier League Cup, Fylde took revenge in the league with a 2-1 win.

Legge accepts the team need to bring their level up from last time out and said: "We know they are a strong side – but so are we.

"We can't afford to play in spells against a team like Fylde as they will punish our mistakes, just as we are looking to do to them.

"We need to take our chances in front of goal, whether that's through build-up play in front of goal or shooting from range.

"Not only that, we need to be just as good defensively and cut out silly mistakes."
