The cold weather continues to keep an icy grip on the local sporting programme.

The biggest casualties so far are the top non-league soccer fixtures featuring Guiseley and Bradford Park Avenue.

Guiseley's Vanarama National League home game with Barrow was the first fixture to fall after an inspection of the Nethermoor pitch on Friday evening.

Park Avenue's home game with Gainsborough Trinity at Horsfall Stadium was called off after a 9.30am inspection.

In the EvoStik League Premier Division, Farsley Celtic's home game with Buxton is on and so is Brighouse Town's away fixture at FC Trafford in North One.

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League, Albion Sports' Premier Division fixture at Pickering Town has been postponed.

Campion's Division One game at Knaresborough Town was subject to a noon inspection which has given the match the go ahead.

There was better news at Dennyfield where Thackley's Premier Division game with Penistone Church got the thumbs up. Also on is Eccleshill's Division One home clash with Selby Town.

Hallmark Security League Division One leaders Silsden got the go ahead for their game with Whitchurch Alport at the Cobbydale Construction Stadium.

Not such good luck for West Riding County Amateur League side Steeton. Their Keighley Cup tie with Denholme United is off, but they are trying to arrange a friendly at Sandylands.

Steetons Reserves have switched their Keighley Supplementary Cup clash against Broomhill to Marley, but that match is subject to an inspection.

In rugby union, the day's big National Two North relegation battle between Wharfedale and Sheffield goes ahead at The Avenue after a team of club officials and supporters swept the lines.

Otley's match at Huddersfield was also given the go ahead after an early-morning inspection.

Not so fortunate were Ilkley and Cleckheaton. Ilkley's North Premier League game at Rossendale Cleckheaton's North One East home clash with West Leeds have both been been called off, but Bradford & Bingley's match with Northern goes ahead at Wagon Lane.

Another match to be postponed is the Yorkshire Four clash between Wibsey and Bramley.
