GUISELEY Vixens have a welcome distraction from their winless league campaign as they welcome Nottingham Forest in the second round of the FA Women’s Premier League Cup.

The Vixens are at the foot of the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division, but they have won four of their five cup games – their one and only defeat coming last Sunday at Fylde in the SSE Women’s FA Cup.

Brighouse Town have also lost just one of their five cup games – that on penalties to Bradford City in the West Riding County Cup.

But unlike Guiseley, Town are also enjoying fantastic league form and are pursuing a fifth-successive win as they welcome Northern Division strugglers Wolves in the FA Cup.

Brighouse’s development team have endured a completely contrasting campaign thus far in the Reserve Northern Division, sitting bottom of the standings.

They will be looking to turn a corner and pick up just their second win of the season against local rivals Huddersfield, while Guiseley’s development side hope to end a four-game run without a win at leaders Blackburn.

Bradford, however, have enjoyed an upturn in form. They are without defeat in five games after downing Leeds United 3-0 last weekend, a Keavy Smith brace and Lucy Preston’s seventh goal of the season securing the points.

Up to fourth in the table, they take on Hull City tomorrow, who they beat 5-2 last month to start that unbeaten run.

After facing FAWPL Northern Division leaders Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last weekend, Farsley Celtic have another tough outing tomorrow as they face Durham Cestria, top of the North East Regional Women’s Football League Premier.

Cestria have lost just once all season, but that defeat came to Farsley, who will be confident for the clash after frustrating free-scoring Boro last week – the half-time score in their 8-1 loss reading 1-0.

In the West Riding County Women’s Football League, Bradford Park Avenue are hoping to secure just their second win in the Premier Division against a winless Leeds Medics & Dentists.

And there’s a big top of the table clash in the Third Division, where leaders Tyersal face an unbeaten second-placed Thackley.
