PLAYER-manager Charlotte Stuart insists Bradford City Women will not underestimate lower-league Long Eaton United in the SSE Women's FA Cup tomorrow.

The Bantams' league rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers were defeated by United in the FA Women's Premier League Plate competition earlier this season, with the fourth-tier outfit not new to causing upsets.

While that will see the visitors get the respect they deserve, City will still go into the second-round tie expecting a third win on the bounce.

Stuart said: "We will not be taking the game lightly. We will play our best team and the team that suits the game.

"We don't know much about the opposition but we always focus on ourselves. This week, we've focused on our strengths and looked at fine-tuning our own performance."

Victory for the Bantams would follow a 5-0 success over Tyersal in the West Riding County Cup and a 3-0 win at Wolves in the league.

It is a run that is deserved after a string of disappointing results that did not reflect their quality of performance.

Stuart is hopeful of that form transpiring into a promising run in the FA Cup, which City have enjoyed success in over the last few seasons.

"We've been playing well for a while but just not getting the results that we've deserved," she said.

"A third successive win would certainly keep confidence high and it would be well earned.

"It's always exciting playing in the cup competitions, even more so this one.

"We've had some good runs in previous years – just two years ago we went to Super League side Yeovil, played well and only lost 2-1.

"If we can follow what we've done in past campaigns, then it could make for an exciting time."
