FIELD Reserves remain unbeaten and top of Alliance Division One in the West Yorkshire League after a 5-0 romp against Kippax Reserves.

Jack Webster led the way with a hat-trick and the other goals came from Liam Lambert and Joe Vickers.

Yet manager Matt Vickers was unimpressed and said: "We gave a below-par performance against a Kippax team who only had 11 players and who had only gained two points all season. We should have scored more goals."

Field had won 4-0 at Horbury Town Reserves the previous week as they avenged two defeats to their opponents last season. Goals came from Danny Farrar, Lewis Forsythe, Liam Lambert and substitute George Cull.

Baildon Trinity Athletic lost 4-2 away to Kirk Deighton Rangers, who are third in Division Two.

Deighton took an early advantage when a cleared corner fell to an unmarked player on the edge of the penalty box and he calmly finished.

Baildon battled hard to get back into the game and their persistence paid off when Andrew Radosevic broke clear and he beat a defender superbly before finishing well with a shot that went into the bottom corner of the net.

Just as Athletic thought they were going to go in at half-time level, Deighton had a deflected shot which hit an arm in the box and the referee felt it was enough to award a penalty, which was duly converted.

Baildon came out with a fighting spirit in the second half and managed to draw level with 20 minutes left. Zach Cronshaw spotted the goalkeeper off his line and executed a superb 25-yard lob.

With both teams now looking like they would settle for a draw, Deighton crossed a ball into the box and the first to react was the Deighton striker as he nodded in.

Baildon pushed on with nothing to lose and created a chance for captain Graham Carney, who found himself one on one with the keeper but dragged his shot wide.

They then fell further behind as the points were sealed when a cross came off the head of a Trinity player to concede an own goal.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves recorded their third win of the season in Alliance Division Two as they defeated Old Centralians Reserves 2-0.

Wanderers club captain Gavin Turner was making his first start of the season and he was ably assisted in defence by Jack Ryan Wakeling and James Butterworth.

Wyke edged in front when a free-kick was headed home by Turner – but they suffered a blow when Terry Ryan was sent off.

The willingness to work by Sam Digby, plus impressive youngster Kai Green, kept Wanderers in front and Digby latched on to a through-ball from Green to secure the three points.

Wanderers secretary Dave Ryan said: "There were some good performances from everyone who played for us."
