HUDDERSFIELD owner Dean Hoyle believes promotion to the Premier League would be the biggest achievement in the club's history.

The Terriers take on Reading in the Sky Bet Championship play-off final at Wembley on Monday, which has been reported to be worth £200million to the winners.

"We've had people doubting us, I understand that, but for us to get there, it would be the most incredible moment this club has ever witnessed," said Hoyle.

"I'm pleased for everybody – not just the players and (head coach) David (Wagner), because they've had fantastic recognition

"I think it's the staff and the people behind the scenes. Our phones are ringing, we're not phoning them, and people are really excited.

"We've got lots of people who have worked here for years and years, long before my time here, and for us to be able to get to the promised land would be a dream come true.

"Not just for Huddersfield Town Football Club but everybody associated with it – the fans, everybody."

Hoyle expects close to 40,000 Terriers fans to make the trip from West Yorkshire following last week's penalty shoot-out win against Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-finals and has predicted another close encounter against Reading.

He said: "We've got a job to do. Reading are going to be a tough team to crack. They showed against Fulham they're a great team and they deserve to be there, just like us.

"They've been up there all season. People have doubted them, probably not as much as us, and they've come through and I'm really pleased for them.

"They're really good people at Reading. We like their directors very much, so it will be a great occasion.

"Like they say, there's a lick of paint between the teams and let's see who comes out on top."
