MIDFIELDER Jess Graham is fighting to be fit for Bradford City's West Riding FA Women's County Cup final next month.

Graham was withdrawn before half-time in City's semi-final win over Guiseley Vixens last week after an ankle injury, but she remains optimistic about ending the season on a high.

"Hopefully I'll just be out for a couple of weeks," she said.

"It's ligament damage to the top of my left ankle, but should be a fairly quick recovery compared to when I was out earlier this season."

Graham spent two months on the sidelines before Christmas after injuring ligaments in her right ankle, but she admits she learned plenty during her time out.

"I'm gutted to be missing this week, but I'm not going to risk rushing recovery – especially after the experience I had at the start of the season with my right ankle," she said.

"Hopefully I'll be back for the last league game, as there's a break after West Brom this weekend.

"I especially want to be fighting fit for the final."

City are after a third successive win on Sunday when they travel to the Midlands.

It's just two weeks since victory over the Baggies on home soil ended their losing run, and now they are confident of finishing the season on a winning sequence.

"I think there's lots of confidence throughout the team now," said Graham.

"There is a real buzz in the changing room and everyone is fighting for one another, which is really good to be a part of.

"We are more than capable of getting another three points this weekend if we play the way we have been."

Victory would go a long way towards building momentum ahead of next month's cup final, when City take on Brighouse Town.

The Bantams are looking to lift the trophy for a fourth successive season, and Graham believes they'll take some stopping.

"It's always important to be in good form before big games, especially cup games because anything can happen," she said.

"But if we carry on the way we're playing with this attitude, I think any team would be lucky to get points from us.

"Every single one of us is up for the challenge ahead and we know that we can do it."
