GUISELEY Vixens head to Chester-le-Street tomorrow hoping to shake off the disappointment of their County Cup semi-final loss to Bradford City – and effectively secure the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division One title.

A victory for Guiseley will give them 49 points and, while only Hull City and Liverpool Marshalls Feds can possibly match that, Guiseley would then have to lose their last four games by significant margins to miss out.

In their last game, a goal from Liv Thackray was enough to clinch a 1-0 home win against Chester-le-Street.

In the same division, Brighouse Town continued their climb up the table with a 1-0 win over bottom club Tranmere Rovers thanks to a first-half goal from Charlotte Proud.

There is a reduced programme of women's football over the Easter weekend, but Bradford Park Avenue can enjoy their break having at last run into form.

In their last Premier Division outing, Avenue spoiled their opponents' celebrations when they took on champions-elect Leeds Medics & Dentists and came from behind to complete a resounding 5-2 win at Harold Park.

The students raced into a 2-0 lead but Avenue hit back to grab a goal from Nat Bell before the break and one each from Jade Nelson and Kirsty Russell in the second half.

With Nat Bell adding two more to complete her hat-trick, Avenue are in good spirits ahead of their final Supplementary Cup group game next week.

Hepworth United can still match the leaders' points tally but have six points and 28 goals to overturn even if the Medics lose their final league game.

Brighouse Athletic could still take the runners-up spot if they can maintain a 100 per cent run in, but they would need Hepworth's results to go their way.

In their last game, Brighouse beat Silsden 2-0 to go fourth with two games in hand on Hepworth – but still seven points adrift and with a far inferior goal difference.

In the North East Regional League Southern Division, champions Farsley Celtic were held 0-0 by third-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Having secured promotion, their last two games – against Harrogate Railway and Malet Lambert – could be decisive in their opponents' relegation fights.
