GEORGE Healey may be leading the Spen Valley League First Division at a canter but have found out how hard life may be in the Premier Division.

They lost 6-1 to top-flight leaders Palestino in a quarter-final of the Spen Valley Memorial Trophy, only managing an Ash Parkinson effort against goals by Titch Chibit (2), Zain Mushtaq, Theo Bujra, Junaid Iftikhar and Zubair Khan.

The other semi-finalists are also from the Premier Division - Athletico, Girlington and Dewsbury West Side.

Abdul Ghanu, Mohammed Ikraa and Shamraz Hussain netted for Athletico in their 3-1 victory over Frst Division Marsh, who profited from an own goal, while Girlington went through by the same scoreline against Savile Youth, Adeeb Jawad bagging a hat-trick as Girlington also conceded an own goal.

Dewsbury West Side, second in the top flight, won 2-1 against Savile United, courtesy of a Jamil Sair brace, with Faisal Adam replying.

Only one league match was played, and that was in the First Division, with Norfolk defeating Dewsbury West Side Reserves 4-1.

The Loonats (Ismail, Haroon and Ilyas), plus Saad Daji, netted for Norfolk, with Arfan Ali getting the consolation.
