CHAD Morris scored a 75th-minute winner as Farsley Celtic beat Grangefield OB 2-1 to maintain their pursuit of the Premier Division title in the Yorkshire Amateur League.

Louis Surtees smashed in Farsley's opener and although Grangefield equalised with a penalty just before the break, Morris ensured the victory which left his side third in the table with two games in hand on leaders Stanley United, who are seven points ahead.

It could have been a more conclusive win but Surtees missed a penalty late on, while Grangefield had defender Nick Smith sent off.

Drighlington continued their quest for promotion from the Championship Division as they climbed to fourth place with a 5-2 win at basement club Alwoodley Reserves.

Carl Hasty twice equalised for Alwoodley but Drighlington pulled clear as Ryan Rhodes backed up two goals apiece from Shane Sowden and Josh Frankland.

Conor Firth bagged a hat-trick as Gildersome Spurs saw off Leeds Medics 3rds 4-1 in Division One, with Jonathan Hirst completing the tally for the leaders.

Spurs top the table by three points from second-placed St Bede's, who have played two games more but kept up the pressure with a 3-1 win at Dewsbury Rangers.

Player-manager Ty Akram and man of the match Adeeb Jawad added to an own goal for Saints, while Jack Smith replied.

Second-bottom Woodkirk Valley and title favourites Idle drew 4-4 after an outstanding game in Division Two. Idle, who lad 3-0 at the interval, are now six points behind leaders Collegians but still have three games in hand.

Jack Strudwick (2), Ryan Doherty and Adam Medley netted for Idle, with Luke Henshaw (3) and Josh Goodwin responding.

Goals by Brandon Hammond and Carl Lomax saw St Bede's Reserves grab a shock 2-1 win at Division Five high-fliers Horsforth St Margaret's 3rds to lift them out of the bottom two.
