SECOND-placed Guiseley Vixens will have one eye on the weather this week as an unpromising forecast threatens to leave them with yet another blank week.

The Vixens are facing an increasingly congested final run-in to their FA Women's Premier League Division One (North) title push.

They are due to travel to Chester-le-Street tomorrow for a game they should win – but despite being unbeaten so far this season, they have lacked game time since the turn of the year and it remains to be seen how the enforced lay-off has affected their momentum.

With at least 12 league and cup games still to play, and unsettled weather inevitable in the next month or so, their season looks like running well into May.

But with four games in hand on leaders Chorley, the current four-point deficit should not prove insurmountable for the Wharfedale outfit.

In the same division, there is no game this week for County Cup semi-finalists Brighouse Town, who saw their FA Cup dream grind to a halt at home to Women's Super League side Everton last week in front of a crowd of 411 people.

After trailing 4-0 at the interval, Annabelle Cass did pull one back, but the visitors' extra class prevailed as they ran out 8-1 winners.

The line-up for the West Riding County FA Women's Cup semi-finals now seems set after county officials reported a walkover for Farsley Celtic after a much-delayed tie at Brighouse Athletic.

With two such outcomes in the last eight of this year's competition, it has arguably been devalued somewhat. Guiseley, Bradford City, Brighouse Town and Farsley now await the draw.

Bradford City were back in action in the Reserve Division (North) but had to settle for a point from their 1-1 draw at Hull City – after beating them 5-1 at home the previous week.

Sinead Ord was the City scorer, while skipper Katy Woodcock picked up the opposition's nomination as City's player of the match.

Guiseley Reserves followed up their 2-1 win over Newcastle United with a 6-2 victory over Brighouse Town Reserves that pushed Brighouse to the foot of the table.

Sarah Danby (2), Alarna Fuller, Keegan Lambert, Demi Wisher and Olivia Thackray scored for Guiseley, after two goals in five minutes by Demi Pringle had actually put Brighouse 2-1 ahead at half-time.

Bradford City are at leaders Fylde tomorrow, while Guiseley entertain Hull. Brighouse are without a game.

There was disappointment for a revitalised Bradford Park Avenue side in the West Riding League Premier Division.

They had field a depleted team against title-chasing Tingley Athletic and eventually finished on the end of a 7-0 defeat.

Tyersal went down 3-1 to Division Three opponents Ilkley Town in their West Riding League Shield tie but, along with Avenue, they have a blank week this week.
