SKIPPER Charlotte Oates has backed Bradford City Women to win all six of their remaining fixtures – starting at West Brom this weekend.

Sunday will be City's first FA Women's Premier League action for a month but Oates is expecting them to return with a bang and end the campaign on a high.

"We have six games left and our target is to win all six. I don't want to settle for anything less," she said.

"I believe the girls deserve a solid finish in the league. We've all worked hard and I know we'll finish as strong as ever, knowing how far we've come."

City sit as high as third in the North Division table after last month's 5-1 trouncing of bottom side Newcastle, some five places above their next opponents.

Yet defending champions West Brom are enjoying a rich vein of form and will be hoping to capitalise on the Bantams' recent lack of action to record a fifth successive victory.

Goalkeeper Oates admitted: "I think long breaks are always tricky. You lose momentum and little bits of match fitness, both psychological and physical.

"But we've got a couple of friendlies under our belts and I know the girls will be strong enough to pick up where we left off.

"It really does feel like forever since we last played in the league. We've been back hard at work since the New Year though and I feel we're fully up for Sunday.

"Training this week will be focused on doing all we can to secure the three points. I have no doubt the management team will have put every thought into the sessions, working out the best routine and preparation.

"Our heads will be down, concentrating on a game plan to beat West Brom – which I know we can do."

It has been an up-and-down 12 months for the Baggies, who, after winning the title, were pipped to promotion by Brighton and started the current season with a 6-0 defeat at newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

They have found their feet recently but Oates remains confident of an away victory this weekend and said: "They are physical but I believe we match any team in the league in that department.

"All we can do is stick to the high-quality football we have been playing and show them that we're taking the three points home. We will go there with the mentality that we can get six wins from our last six games."
