BRIGHOUSE Town Reserves defeated Ossett Town Reserves 2-1 in the Lancashire League.

Ash Muncaster gave Brighouse a 1-0 interval lead after they had started slowly, handicapped by sloppy passing. They then started well in the second period and were rewarded when Alex Lowe increased their lead.

Ossett reduced the arrears with half an hour to go but Brighouse worked hard and managed to see the game out.

Liversedge Reserves lost their derby 4-2 at Emley Reserves.

A strong Emley team, which included a few first-teamers, raced into a 2-0 half-time lead and they scored twice more before Sedge reduced the arrears with late goals from Ben Sadler and Nathan Keightley.

Liversedge secretary John Hewitt said: "If it wasn't for our goalkeeper James Waggett giving a man-of-the-match display, Emley would have scored a lot more goals."

Sedge had previously faced leaders Bradford RIASA at Clayborn and suffered a 5-3 defeat.

RIASA took the lead after only six minutes but Warren Redford equalised 16 minutes later.

The leaders showed clinical finishing by racing into a 4-1 half-time lead – and five minutes after the restart they scored again.

Louis Andre bundled the ball over the line for Sedge, who then saw Ben Sadler's headed goal disallowed for offside.

Redford added his second of the match but Sedge ran out of time.
