THACKLEY Reserves, 3-0 behind at half-time to some well-worked goals, finally lost 8-4 at RIASA East in the Lancashire League.

The second period was more open, with both teams looking likely to score every time they attacked, and Thackley's goals were scored by Andy McHugh (2), Joe Keen and Harrison McPhee.

Thackley manager Andy Patterson said: "It was a difficult game for us but it was played in the right spirit. All in all it was a very entertaining game and the best team won on the night."

Silsden Reserves are second from bottom following their 5-1 loss at home to Bradford RIASA.

The derby between Brighouse Town Reserves and Liversedge Reserves was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The Thackley v Altofts and Bradford Park Avenue v Shelley matches in the Northern Under-19 Alliance League went the same way.
