FIELD remain fifth in the Premier Division after their 1-1 draw against Leeds City in the West Yorkshire League.

The Bradford club, who fell behind in the first minute, had two good chances to equalise through John Penn but the Leeds goalkeeper pulled off some great saves.

After half-time, Field finally equalised when Curtis McMahon's cross was converted by Darryl Leach's powerful header.

Field manager Steve Vickers said: "We started sloppily but I was very pleased with the team's performance, especially after a poor start, and we should have taken all three points."

Wyke Wanderers suffered a setback in their quest to be promoted from Division One as they were beaten 2-1 at Howden Clough.

Wanderers started slowly and Howden went ahead before Karl Fawcett levelled with a penalty. Wyke pushed for the lead but were caught on the break with Howden's winner.

There were opportunities to equalise but poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept Wanderers at bay, with too many of their players having an off day.

Baildon Trinity Athletic's match in Division Two was called off because opponents Great Preston could not raise a team.

Danny Laban and Calum Robinson scored for Field Reserves but they were unable to prevent Horbury Town Reserves beating them 4-2 in Alliance Division One.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves faced Division One leaders Robin Hood Athletic Reserves and lost 6-1.

Wanderers secretary Dave Ryan said: "We gave a slightly better performance than the previous week's heavy defeat but we faced a big, strong Robin Hood side. Harrison Levy, our goal-scorer, was one of our better players."
