THACKLEY Reserves were beaten 3-1 at Lancashire League leaders Yorkshire Amateur Reserves – despite being 1-0 ahead at half-time thanks to Mikey Kelley's eighth-minute goal.

Ammers equalised two minutes after the interval and then Matt Keen was injured after saving at the feet of an opponent, which restricted the Thackley keeper's movement for the rest of the match.

The visitors added two goals in the last three minutes to win the contest, the first coming from former Thackley player Zivani (Izzy) Mbire.

Thackley Reserves bowed out of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup after a 9-1 thrashing at home to Boroughbridge.

The consolation goal came from Rob Coulter and Thackley manager Andy Patterson said: "We fielded a very young side that unfortunately came up against a big, strong Boroughbridge team. This was a real eye-opener for our youngsters."

Thackley's under-19s drew their Northern Alliance League match 2-2 against Shelley.

Callum Brewster opened the scoring for Thackley but Shelley scored twice before the Dennyboys grabbed a deserved equaliser in the last minute through Tom Storey.

Thackley joint-manager Mark Bywater said: "We deserved all three points."

Bradford Park Avenue are bottom of the league and still looking for their first point of the season after a 5-1 home hammering by Ossett Town.
