REFEREE Colin Hardy was in danger of running out of nib on his pencil when he was in charge of the Spen Valley League clash between Howden Clough and Dewsbury West Side Reserves.

The bottom-of-the-table Division One contest finished 7-7 as Jay Stainburn, Shane Thornton and Tim Whitehead bagged braces for hosts Clough, for whom Ashton Thomas also netted as they gained their first point of the season.

Irfan Ali (3), Zaiid Sajawal, Owais Zahoor, Arsalan and Habib Shahid replied for West Side, who remain three points ahead.

Shock result of the day was Savile Town's 2-1 defeat of visitors and leaders Marsh, who were overtaken at the top by George Healey as they beat Norfolk 4-0, with Olly Mitchell bagging a double.

There were two draws in the Premier Division, with Girlington's point at second-placed Dewsbury West Side being the most impressive.

Adeeb Jawad and Mohammed Qasim were on target for Girlington in the 2-2 draw, while Savile United and Savile Youth featured in a 1-1 stalemate.
