THACKLEY reserves remain unbeaten in the Lancashire League after thrashing AFC Emley reserves 7-0 away. Thackley took a 3-0 lead at half-time and never looked back.

Tawonga Gumboah, Tristan Innes and Callum Padget all scored braces and Andy Philp was also on target.

Thackley boss Andy Patterson said: "The match was played in the right spirit and my man of the match award went to Tawonga Gumboah."

Thackleys U19's went out of the Northern Alliance Pat Rice League Cup when they suffered a 7-0 defeat at Dennyfield against Ossett Town.

Thackley's joint manager Mark Bywater said: "It was a tough night that saw us soundly beaten by a well-organised and experienced Ossett team against our very young side."

Bradford Park Avenue U19's also went out of the Northern Alliance Pat Rice League Cup when they lost 10-9 in a penalty shoot-out after drawing 2-2 against Sherburn White Rose.

Avenue took the lead through Brad Benn's goal five minutes before half-time, although Sherburn equalised shortly after the interval.

An own goal restored BPA's lead but with the clock ticking away, Sherburn grabbed an equaliser with a free kick from 30 yards.

The tie was then settled by penalties that saw Sherburn go through to the next round
