FAIRBANK United won 6-3 at WRCFA Challenge Trophy holders Field Reserves in the first round of the Bradford & District Cup.

A game full of incident saw Field take an early lead but Fairbank equalised against the run of play after Omar Kante had been up-tipped in the box and Bilal Saleem obliged from the spot.

Fairbank twice scored on the break as Mahmado Kante headed home from a corner and then caught Field's centre-back in possession and that error was duly punished.

Field retaliated but Omar Kante mesmerised Field’s defence to give Fairbank a 4-2 lead reduced almost immediately to 4-3 by the interval.

Fairbank tightened things up with skipper Bilal Saleem inspiring his fellow defenders.

Bilal added a second from the spot after Omar Kante had been upended with Bilal's hat trick of penalties completed when Mahmado Kante was brought down.

Further chances went begging but a fantastic display from Firbank that bodes well for the future.

Elsewhere, St Bedes won 2-0 at Hunsworth without being duly troubled.

Ty Akram showed fantastic composure and finished brilliantly with a volley into the corner.

This settled Bedes and Kingsley Rowe-Depass exquisitely lobbed the Hunsworth keeper to secure a 2-0 half-time advantage.

Drighlington beat Old Batelians 2-0 in the Heavy Woollen Wheatley Cup.

The deadlock was broken in the 65th minute by way of an own-goal with Joe Hirst making sure for Drig in the 80th minute.

Drighlington Reserves lost 9-1 at home to Crown Gawthorpe with Kieran Bolton supplying the only solace for the defeated hosts.

St Nicholas lost 4-3 at home to Farsley Celtic Juniors.

Farsley led after seven minutes with the ball creeping in at the far post.

A galvanised St Nicks equalised in the 24th minute through Ryan Brough after a keeping error and, minutes later, Mark Hill provided the ammunition for Ryan to force the ball home at the far post.

Craig Farrand restored parity after scoring for the visitors followed by a horrible sliced clearance that gave leading scorer Danny Lyons the chance to put Farsley 3-2 ahead in the 43rd minute.

Almost straight from the restart St Nicks drew level after Gary Driscoll made the most of a ball loose in the box.

Lyons missed a penalty but in the 76th minute beat the offside trap to make the score 4-3 in favour of Farsley Celtic with Craig Farrand for Farsley and Ishmail Mills for St Nicks outstanding.

Farnley Sports were held to a 2-2 draw by Beeston Juniors.

Farnley Sport dominated the first half and led 2-0 thanks to a Shane Gaunt double. A revitalised Beeston came good in the second half and Matty Wood from 25 yards and an Andy Michal header enabled Beeston to deservedly draw level with the Farnley keeper David Roberts preserving their point with a 90th minute last ditch save.

Beeston St Anthony's beat Calverley United 2-0 with Ben McGuigan and Jake Hayward on target.

In Division 1, Dewsbury Rangers beat Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves 4-0.
