BRADFORD City welcome unbeaten Blackburn Rovers to Eccleshill United tomorrow, boosted by a first win of the season in their midweek FA Women's Premier League North derby with Huddersfield Town.

The 1-0 victory ended a run of four successive defeats in league or cup, but their success did not come easily as Town survived some intense first-half pressure and came out strongly after the break.

This time it was City who were forced on the defensive, but a goal from Lucy Sowerby in the 67th minute eased the nerves and, in the end, City were unlucky not to add to their score.

In Division One North, Guiseley Vixens maintained their 100 per cent start with a 7-0 romp at home to Morecambe.

First-half goals from Olivia Thackeray, Charlotte Blythe, Keegan Lambert and skipper Alarna Fuller put Guiseley in a very comfortable position, and Thackeray, with her second, and substitutes Jade Clark and Elizabeth White wrapped up the scoring.

In the same division, promoted Brighouse Town lost 1-0 at Hull City and, in tomorrow's games, Guiseley are at home to a Leeds side smarting from a 2-0 midweek defeat at home to Hull, while Brighouse go to Tranmere Rovers still looking for their first win.

The Northern section's reserve division fixtures tomorrow pit Guiseley, with two defeats from two, at a Blackburn side with two wins from two, while pointless rivals Bradford City and Leeds are also due to meet.

Bradford Park Avenue, beaten 3-1 by Battyeford Belles in the West Riding Premier Division last week, are in FA Cup action tomorrow when they welcome Sheffield United to Westwood.

Megan Kerr, Cody Scott and Katie Clarkson were the Battyeford scorers, while Sophie Mitchell grabbed a consolation effort for Avenue.

In the region's other FA Cup ties, Wakefield are at home to Farsley Celtic, Brighouse Athletic go to Sheffield Wednesday, and Ossett Albion are at home to Malet Lambert.

Bradford City A go to Yorkshire Amateurs for their first game in the West Riding League First Division, while, in the same division, Tyersal, beaten 4-0 at Farsley Celtic Reserves last week, could find themselves less pressured when they entertain a Hebden Royd side who kicked off their season with a 17-0 defeat at the hands of Tingley Reserves.
