FARSLEY Celtic Juniors became Yorkshire Amateur League champions after runners-up Ealandians could only manage to draw 1-1 with Farnley Sports.

Yet there is nothing like doing things in style and Farsley derived great satisfaction from their 7-0 victory over Premier Division local rivals Farnley Sports.

Leading marksman and golden boot winner Danny Lyons opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Sam Bradley gave Farsley a 2-0 interval advantage.

Louis Surtees went on to claim a hat-trick, Lyons notched his second with a header and Jordan Grimes added the seventh.

Grangefield OB lost 2-1 at Leeds Medics & Dentists but St Bede's won by the same scoreline at Garforth Rangers.

In Division One, St Bede's won 2-1 at Garforth Rangers with Jordan Northin and Kingsley Hall on target.

Division Three action saw Thornesians drew 2-2 at home to Fairbank United.

Fairbank started indifferently, allowing Thornesians to dominate, but snatched a goal against the run of play when Siam Khan tapped in a rebound.

Thornesians equalised and although Naveed Khan re-established Fairbank's lead, it was cancelled out as Tich Chibi ran through, rounded the keeper and scored his second goal of the game.

Fairbank's stand-in keeper Akif Waseem then pulled off a match-saving stop from his own right back.

With the ball being floated across the area from Thornesians' winger, instead of nodding the ball out for the corner it was headed towards the bottom corner but Waseem produced a spectacular reflex save to claw the ball off the line.

Fairbank went on to miss an open goal but Thornesians were also denied by two goalline clearances.
