FIELD travelled to Wetherby Athletic in the Premier Division and came away with a hard-earned 5-3 victory.

Field found themselves 2-0 behind before their midfield man Aidan Day began to control the match and he duly pulled a goal back before Glyn Hirst levelled before half-time.

Hirst then scored his second goal early after the break.

Wetherby hit back to score with a far-post header but with 10 minutes to go, Dan Cunningham went on a solo run from the halfway line to put Field in front and the same player netted from the penalty spot to complete the scoring.

Field manager Steve Vickers said: "We started the game slowly and soon found ourselves behind but we eventually came out worthy winners."

This result puts Field back at the top of the League – they are one point clear of Beeston St Anthony's who have a game in hand.

Field face a hectic run in at the end of the season with their next League match not until Wednesday, May 11 when they entertain Leeds City.

Wyke Wanderers had no scheduled match in the Premier Division.

Baildon Trinity Athletic drew 1-1 against Headingley in Division One.

Baildon were already relegated so they played an experimental team with men playing out of position.

Despite the defensive pairing of Lee Mathers and Sean McVey doing well, it was Headingley who took the lead after 30 minutes with a free-kick that left goalkeeper Lee Newall stranded.

Trinity got themselves back into the game ten minutes later through a free-kick of their own.

This one was drilled into the penalty box by Darren Rands, and the ball fell at the feet of central midfielder Asa Dobson, who struck a shot towards the goal and it found the bottom corner of the net with the help of a slight deflection.

With almost the last kick of the game, Baildon should have won the game when an inch perfect ball over the top from Darren Rands set Elliot Moody into a footrace with a Headingley centre back, Moody got ahead and slipped the ball past the advancing goalkeeper, only for the referee to call offside.

Baildon player Elliott Moody said: “This was a good result for Baildon in our final game and we now look forward to a promotion campaign next season.”

Jack Webster (two), Matthew Hartley and Ben Baker were on the score sheet for Field Reserves who beat Pool Reserves 4-3 in the Alliance Division One. Brighouse Town Reserves have won the Lancashire League title without kicking a ball as their nearest rivals AFC Emley Reserves lost 4-1 against Ossett Town Reserves.
