BRADFORD CITY completed a third successive West Riding County FA Women's Cup final victory at Woodlesford – and they did it in style with a crushing 6-0 win over old rivals Leeds Ladies.

Before the game, head coach Steve Winterburn had said: "If we hit the ground running I am confident we can win". Well, City hit the ground sprinting!

It took them just five minutes to open the scoring at county headquarters, through Hannah Campbell, but 18 minutes later they were 5-0 up.

Leeds couldn't match City's pace and determination as goals came in quick-fire fashion through Rachel Lee, two more from player of the match Campbell – to complete her hat-trick – and Danielle Whitham.

Not surprisingly, the second half was a bit of an anti-climax but Chantelle O'Hara wrapped up the scoring in injury time.

The result was a welcome boost ahead of tomorrow's game at home to relegation-threatened Nuneaton Borough and it certainly lifted spirits after a hugely disappointing weekend saw all three City sides defeated.

A first-half goal from Rosie McDonnell gave the first team the lead at home to leaders Preston but the visitors hit back after the break to win 2-1. The reserves crashed to a 6-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the Reserve Division Cup final and the A team saw their promotion hopes take a huge knock when they went down 3-0 at fellow challengers Silsden.

They have already been awarded the game against Hebden Royd next week but the City A side now need to win their two remaining games to go up with champions Battyeford Belles. In the meantime they take on Premier Division Tingley Athletic in the League Cup final at Ossett Town on Bank Holiday Monday (2pm).

City's game against Nuneaton is of huge interest to Guiseley Vixens, who are a point behind the Midlands side, having played a game more, in the relegation battle.

Bradford Park Avenue take on Hepworth at Horsfall tomorrow knowing they need six points from their last three games to avoid bottom spot, and relegation, from the West Riding League Premier Division.
