THE Yorkshire Amateur League drew 0-0 with the Amateur Football Combination London in the Jerry Hildersley Trophy in Rothwell.

Defences dominated proceedings with neither goalkeeper truly tested, while both teams rattled the crossbar in the first half and the miss by AFC from six yards was a slice of luck for the Amateur League.

Indeed, Amateur keeper Tom Carlisle went up in the dying embers to try and grab some glory for his team but just failed to connect with a diving header.

Meanwhile, the Yorkshire Amateur League under-21s were beaten 3-2 by their AFC London counterparts.

Tom Stewart of Stanningley OB and Joe Firth (Farsley Celtic Juniors) were on target but it was not enough to avoid defeat.

In the semi-finals of the domestic Hancock Cup, Stanningley Old Boys Reserves won 3-2 at Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves, who scored through Steve Wells and Chris Manning before falling to Jake Dalley's winner.

Division One league action saw Drighlington win 3-1 at Garforth Rangers thanks to two goals from Josh Sheldrake and a super strike by Brett Thompson.

St Bede's are seventh after a 5-4 defeat at Wheelwright, who eased off the bottom of the table with their win.

Jonny Beverley (2), Jordan Williams, James Waite and Dan Stevens, with the winner, were on target for Wheelwright. Saints scorers were Jamal Nash (2), Jordan Northin and Mark Hayward.

Grangefield OB Reserves claimed a 3-2 home win over Amaranth, with both clubs among a group of seven in mid-table with only seven points separating them.

Glenn Austwick (2) and Kevin Brown were on target for Grangefield, who are fifth.

Amaranth were 2-0 down by half-time but a Graeme Bingley free-kick and Josh Swift's strike restored parity, before Grangefield scored a late winner from what appeared to be an offside position.

In Division Three, Fairbank United drew 4-4 at home to Woodhouse Moor Meths.

Veteran Akif Waseem gave Fairbank the lead and that was doubled by a header from the diminutive Siam Khan, before Woodhouse pulled one back. Zeeshan Khan made up for a bad miss and netted before the interval.

A determined Woodhouse made it 3-2 before Asad Hussain added to the Fairbank lead. There was a hint of offside about the third goal from Woodhouse, who then converted a penalty to enable them to share the spoils, with Steve Lindsay and Anthony Lewis each netting at the double.

In Division Six, St Bede's Reserves beat Leeds Modernians Reserves 4-0 with an own goal and strikes from David Scott and George Green (2).
