NO TEAMS changed positions in the Spen Valley League Premier Division – but it was still a good weekend for leaders Girlington.

They were the only members of the top five to win, defeating fifth-placed derby visitors White Abbey Road 2-1.

Danyal Dar and Shoaib Javed netted for the front-runners, with Waheed Khan replying.

Girlington are six points ahead of Athletico, who have three games in hand but lost 1-0 at home to sixth-placed Vision, Liam Hartley getting the goal.

Savile Youth (fourth) and Palestino (third) had a 1-1 draw at Savile Playing Fields, with James Chadwick on target for the visitors.

It was the same scoreline at Halifax Road as hosts Hightown Jets shared the spoils with Hartshead, for whom Jack Rodgerson netted.

Idle were the day's top scorers with seven against Savile United without reply, Jack Strudwick (3), Carl Dawson (2), Callum Doherty and John Curtis being their marksmen.

In Division One, West End Park had a decent 3-2 home win over Smokin' Aces, while Howden Clough and Savile Town played out a 3-3 draw.

Mount Pleasant won the only Spen Valley Memorial Trophy tie 3-1 at Inter Batley.
