STEVE Winterburn's tenure as head coach has rarely failed to produce an exciting run-in for Bradford City WFC and this season is no different.

With a County Cup semi-final with Guiseley Vixens already assured – the game to be played on March 30, at the County Ground – recent form has revived their FA Premier League (North) campaign.

A home win against basement club Loughborough Foxes tomorrow would be City's fourth in a row since the turn of the year and leave them with the leading clubs in their sights.

In their last outing City produced a convincing 3-0 win over Newcastle to avenge their 3-1 defeat on Tyneside at the end of the year.

After a goal-less first half, Sarah Danby fired her side ahead in the 50th minute while Rosie McDonnell and substitute Amanda Ellsworth added two more to seal the win.

The reserve team already have a League Cup final booked against current Northern section leaders Blackburn Rovers, at Hednesford on April 24, but with games in hand they could still complete a league and cup double.

Tomorrow, they take on neighbours Huddersfield Town at Rawdon Meadows, and a win there will lift them into joint second place.

The A team are still involved in the West Riding League Cup but the 2-2 draw with the Leeds Medics and Dentists side has seen them drop seven points in their last two games.

A win at home to Hebden Royd this week would boost their promotion hopes, but it might not be enough to rescue their Championship chances.

Guiseley Vixens are standing in the way of a City v Leeds County Cup final, but for John Shirt's Guiseley side every game is a 'cup final' at the moment as they battle to avoid relegation in their first Premier Division (North) season.

In their last game, a crucial 3-2 win over relegation rivals Loughborough lifted them off the bottom for the first time this season and the Vixens will be hoping City do them another favour in their game against them tomorrow.

Vixens twice came from behind to take the points against Loughborough, Carey Huegett, Charlie Blythe and Katie Anderton scoring, and they will certainly need to have taken confidence from that win as they prepare for the long trip north to Newcastle.

Bradford Park Avenue had a very welcome win over bottom club Gledhow in a West Riding League Premier Division relegation battle as a fine performance by goalkeeper Molly Leaf and goals from Sarah Huby, Sophie Mitchell and Annie Roberts secured a 3-0 win.
