FIELD reached the semi-finals of the West Riding County Challenge Cup following a hard-fought 4-3 victory at Rimington.

The Bradford side were behind after two minutes following a mix-up between their goalkeeper and a defender.

Both sides created chances but Field then fell 2-0 down after a good move and suffered again just before half-time when they found themselves 3-0 behind.

The score could have been 4-4 at the interval if chances created by both teams had been taken – but Field then made a tactical change and reaped the rewards.

Straight from the kick-off, Cameron McGovern pulled a goal back and he then scored again ten minutes into the second half.

Field were pushing for the equaliser when Rimington hit the post twice – before they eventually drew level when Nicky Doherty slotted home.

Substitute Curtis McMahon, who had come on at half-time, then netted the winner in the last minute after a tricky run down the wing.

Field assistant manager Barry Dunne said: "It was a great game with both sides putting 100 per cent effort into an end-to-end tie for the full 90 minutes. We found ourselves 3-0 behind so it was a great comeback."

Field will now face Carlton Athletic in the last four on Thursday, March 24 at Woodlesford, the West Riding County FA's headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Premier Division match between Wyke Wanderers and Robin Hood Athletic was postponed because of the bad weather, as was the Division One game between Baildon Trinity Athletic and East End Park.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves had no scheduled match in Alliance Division One and in the same section, the Field Reserves v East End Park Reserves game was postponed.
