AFTER all the delays caused by the weather, Bradford City Women face a hectic month ahead, with all three senior teams frantically chasing honours.

The first team travel to Loughborough Foxes, at the University Stadium, tomorrow in a game coach Steve Winterburn needs to win to have a chance of a top-four finish.

Guiseley have a particular interest in the result as they face a three-way battle with Loughborough and Nuneaton - who City beat 2-1 last week - to avoid relegation in their first season of FA Premier League football.

Ellie Olds fired the Bantams ahead at Nuneaton in the 28th minute but a 61st-minute professional foul by Charlotte Stuart not only resulted in her sending off as the resultant free-kick produced an equaliser.

Winterburn said: "I always felt relaxed and confident because we looked like scoring every time we attacked - even with 10 men."

Despite that confidence, it took a 25-yard strike from substitute Sarah Danby, just six minutes from time, to secure the points.

John Shirt's Guiseley helped themselves with a superb 1-1 draw at leaders Preston to leave them level on points at the bottom with Loughborough and just one point behind Nuneaton.

Katie Anderton marked her debut with a goal and, though Preston equalised in the second half, a fine double save from Guiseley keeper Danni Maslin-Barr helped secure a vital point.

Tomorrow, Guiseley are at home to fourth-placed Stoke City and, though a good result would do City a favour, there will be none asked or given when the two sides meet on Wednesday in the County Cup semi-final. The winners will play Leeds Ladies, 1-0 winners over Brighouse Town, in the final on March 30.

The City reserve side are already assured of a place in the FA Premier League Reserve Cup final, their third in succession, after a resounding 5-0 win at home to Crystal Palace last week.

Emma Elliot struck a hat-trick while Abi Barker and substitute Keavy Smith completed the scoring to secure a final tie against their title rivals Blackburn Rovers. City currently trail Rovers by nine points but have four games in hand and hope to keep the pressure on the leaders when they face bottom club Middlesbrough at Rawdon Meadows tomorrow.

The City A team are already through to the semi-final of the West Riding League Cup but their First Division title hopes took a knock when they went down 5-1 at current leaders Battyeford Belles.

Bradford Park Avenue slipped closer to relegation in the Premier Division when they went down 6-2 to Altofts. Jade Nelson and Laura Wilkinson were the Avenue scorers.
