BRADFORD City are set to return to action after the Christmas and New Year break with the visit of West Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town for an FA Women's Premier League North game tomorrow.

The teams also meet a week on Sunday, again in Bradford, in a second-round SSE Women's Cup tie.

It is a long time since City boss Steve Winterburn found his side battling in the bottom half of the table and, with Town similarly placed, the clash at Eccleshill United promises to be crucial.

City still have games in hand on some of the clubs above them and the table is tight enough for them to still finish well if they can put two or three good results together.

It is a little different at newly-promoted Guiseley Vixens, who take on Blackburn Rovers at home desperately needing something from the game to move away from the relegation places.

At present it looks like any two from three will drop down from this division – but Guiseley's steady improvement in the weeks leading up to Christmas has given them hope of survival.

There is a clash of the titans in the North East Regional Women's League Premier Division as leaders Brighouse Town go to second-placed Barnsley, who are also unbeaten but are eight points adrift with two games in hand.

In Division One North, front-runners Farsley Celtic are at Ossett Albion looking to defend their unbeaten record and maintain their promotion push.

Bradford City's second string play only their fifth game of the season in the FA Women's Premier League Reserve section.

But their A team and Bradford Park Avenue await the resumption of the West Riding County League fixtures next weekend.
