BRADFORD City boss Steve Winterburn could be excused for singing 'All I want for Christmas is three points" as his side prepare to travel to the Midlands for a clash with bottom club Nuneaton in the Women's Premier League (North) tomorrow.

It has been a stop-start season for City. They have reached the semi-finals of the County Cup but are out of the League Cup and have five wins and five defeats from their ten league games to date.

With games at Nuneaton, and a local derby with Huddersfield Town at Eccleshill United on January 3, Winterburn has a chance to get the New Year off with a bang and start to climb the table.

It is also a frustrating time for the reserves who have played only four games and are not due back in action until their trip to Middlesbrough next month.

Meanwhile, the A team can enjoy their Christmas in the knowledge they will end the year in top spot in the West Riding League First Division.

Guiseley Vixens, second from bottom in the Womens Premier League, will be hoping for a favour from City. But they face a rather more difficult trip themselves when they go to leaders Nottingham Forest.

Depleted Bradford Park Avenue turned in a fine performance in their last game against Ossett Town, played at Thornton Rec on the 3G pitch.

But they were left empty-handed after an extraordinary finale in which Town struck twice in the last minute to secure a 4-2 win.

A Jo Barraclough own goal and a first half injury-time strike from skipper Sarah Huby saw Avenue turn round level at the break. But goals from Danielle Sidebottom (2), Chloe Holt and former Bradford City striker Caroline Omboyi clinched victory for Town to send them top of the West Riding League Premier Division.
