WYKE Wanderers Reserves' match at Horbury Town Reserves in Alliance Division One was among the few survivors in the West Yorkshire League, and even that was played in gale-force winds.
Horbury coped better with the elements in the first half, overwhelming Wyke's midfield to score three times.
The visitors improved in the second half but conceded a late goal to lose 4-0.
Wyke's secretary Dave Ryan said: "Despite the result, on the bright side there were some good performances from Michael Stowell and Declan O'Regan, with Rory Senior also doing well on his debut."
