WHITBURN Athletic scored four goals at Savile Youth but it wasn't enough to prevent them from losing their Spen Valley League Premier Division match.

Sohail Mahmood (3) and Kezim Shah were on target for Athletic, but new leaders Youth bagged eight, courtesy of Abdullah Aswat (4), Huzaifa Adam (2), Nabeel Hafeez and Mosin Hazi.

Scoring eight goals at home proved quite popular as Dewsbury West Side and Smokin Aces also managed the feat in the Spen Valley Memorial Trophy.

Faisal Hanif and Munir Majid led the way with braces for West Side against Norfolk, Jamil Sair, Atif Basharat, Arfan Ali and Danish Khalid completing the tally against rivals who did not score, but the day's thriller was at Aces, who edged it 8-7 against West End Park.

Sohail Khan (3), Ismail Raja (3) and Imran Lunat (2) netted for West Side, Matty Softley (4), Danny Clegg, Ayunda Mayo and George Garforth replying for West End.

Also close was Inter Batley's 5-4 victory at Mount Pleasant, with away goals coming from Mahfooza Kola, Saddique Yoosof, Zlad Rawat, Raeece Lorgat and Awab Ahmed, Saif Akbar (2), Sufyaan Hafeez and Mohammed Sadiq being on target for Mount Pleasant.

Drummond couldn't manage a goal at home to Savile Town, who scored three via Naveed Hafeez, Usman Umar and an own goal.
