GIRLINGTON shaded a nine-goal Premier Division thriller in the Spen Valley League.
They conceded four goals to visitors Savile Town but won 5-4 thanks to strikes by Adeeb Jawad (2), Junaid Bashir, Shoaib Javed and Adil Tanvir to go level with their opponents on 13 points.
White Abbey Road also won on the road – by 4-2 at Whitburn Athletic – with Waheed Khan and Imran Fazil bagging braces for the winners, while Maldini Nydrano and Sohail Mahmood replied.
Palestino climbed to third place on the back of a 3-1 home victory over Hightown Jets.
Top-flight strugglers Salthorn lost 3-2 at Division One side Norfolk in the Spen Valley Trophy, despite goals by Aaron Williams and Ryan Franks.
Drummond and Mount Pleasant, third and second in the First Division, drew 3-3 in the same competition. Tariq Iqbal, Hameed Afsar and Tufail Khan were on target for Drummond.
