BRADFORD City go into their FA Women's Premier League Cup tie with Midland Division One leaders Leicester City at Eccleshill United tomorrow fresh from a crushing 17-0 win at north-east side Norton & Stockton Ancients in the previous round.

The game was a particular triumph for Abbie McIver, newly signed from Sheffield, as she ran in four goals in the first 44 minutes. A Hannah Campbell hat-trick, two goals apiece from Olivia Thackray, Rosie McDonnell and Chantelle O'Hara, one each for Danielle Whitham, Charlotte Stuart and Abi Lee and an own goal completed the scoring.

It was a result that equalled the club's highest-ever score, recorded against Selby Town 20 years ago.

This weekend's game could be a stern test for although Leicester are a division below City, they have won all eight of their league games to date and will themselves be full of confidence.

Guiseley Vixens' debut season in the Premier League North has yet to offer a great deal of encouragement in terms of results but, thanks to their one victory to date against Liverpool Feds in the last round, they too have a place in this week's League Cup draw.

A 6-0 defeat in the league last week left them still looking for their first point but a knockout trip to Division One side Mossley Hill might offer some respite.

Bradford City's second string are at Blackburn Rovers tomorrow but they enjoyed a successful outing in the Reserve Division Cup when they finished 5-1 winners at Sporting Khalsa.

Laura Etford, Jess Graham and Aqsa Mushtaq struck in a 12-minute spell either side of half-time to put City in control. The hosts pulled one back but Etford and substitute Emma Elliot completed a comfortable win. Huddersfield Town beat Leeds by the same scoreline.

Former Bradford City striker Caroline Omboyi returned to Premier Division football when signed by Guiseley but the venture was shortlived. But being dual-registered, she was back in action for Ossett Town – and scoring – in their 3-1 win at Altofts to go top of the West Riding County League Premier Division table on goal difference.

Bradford Park Avenue have had to wait for their first league game but finally get their Premier Division season underway at Hepworth United tomorrow, while Brighouse Athletic are at home to Tingley.

In Division One, Battyeford Belles are top with three wins from three – but the Bradford City A team, having played a game more, have a chance to move level on points when they go to Wetherby Athletic's reserves.

Dewsbury Rangers, enjoying a new lease of life in Division Three, were 6-1 winners at home to Skipton Town.
