THREE new teams have been admitted to the Spen Valley League for the 2015-16 season, which starts today.

They are Hartshead, White Abbey RD and Salthorn, while four have come up from Division One – Palestino (champions), Hightown Jets (runners-up), Idle and Athletico.

This should make for a very competitive 12-team set-up, while there will be nine teams in the second tier – including new boys Dewsbury West Side and Drummond, while Cleckheaton Sporting have changed their name to West End Park.

The league are also hoping to get all of their clubs up to FA Charter Standard by the end of the 2016-17 season.
