FIELD represented the West Riding County FA and came away from Westmorland with a 2-1 victory after extra-time against Corinthians in the final of the Association of Northern Counties Senior Cup.

Andy Hawker opened the scoring for Field after only ten minutes but five minutes later they were reduced to ten men when Tom Ponter was sent off for two yellow-card offences.

Corinthians levelled the score with 15 minutes to go but Danny Cunningham put Field back in front in extra-time, although their goalkeeper Tom Metcalfe had to make a brilliant penalty save to preserve their victory.

Wyke Wanderers' push for promotion from Division One of the West Yorkshire League is gaining momentum as they won 1-0 at Aberford Albion. The game was scoreless until the 75th minute, when Ben Bodle's corner was headed into the net by James Stansfield.

Fourth-placed Baildon Trinity Athletic drew 0-0 against third-placed Mount St Mary's in Division Two.

Baildon forward Ben Craven had a good chance after ten minutes, following good work by his brother Tom, but the St Mary's goalkeeper made a fine save.

Athletic were on top throughout the first half but the second period was even, with neither side able to break each other down.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves' promotion hopes from Alliance Division Two suffered a setback when they lost 2-1 at bottom-of-the-league Middleton Park Reserves.

Wanderers captain Gary Lupton put his side ahead with a stunning 25-yard shot but Middleton equalised straight away and scored a second goal on the hour, and Lupton's mixed match ended with him missing a penalty with the last kick of the game.

An uneventful game resulted in a 0-0 draw between Garforth Rangers Reserves and Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves.
